6-8th September 2019
These three days are tailored for professional actors, dancers and performers, who are interested in the connection between movement and verbatim text – derived from interviews and speeches.
Through rigorous and full-bodied movement practices we will train and explore how to draw movement ideas from text and find physical tools to illuminate character.
We will look at body language and how to stylise or extend it beyond the naturalistic and play with the coexistence of spoken text and movement simultaneously, to reveal layers of the script.
Verbatim text is the inspiration for this workshop. By unlocking its physical potential, it will allow us to interrogate what texts are inherently dramatic and can be transformed from an every-day context into theatrical performance.
This workshop is the last in a 3-part series that Hannes is leading this year as part of the 2019 Performer Training Series (curated by Emma Bonnici).
It will deepen and further the work started at the first two intensives in March and June but it also works as a stand-alone experience and and first-timers are encouraged to apply.
